The Air Jordan 1 Mid GS “Banned 2020” is the youth sizing of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe in a colorway that mimics the design of the Nike Air Ship that Jordan was barred from wearing in the NBA. Due to the NBA’s strict policy on the amount of color players’ sneakers were to have, Michael was prohibited from wearing the “Blacku002FRed” Air Ship as a rookie in 1985. This “Banned 2020” is nearly identical to the two-tone black-and-red style seen on the Air Ship in question. Red leather appears on the perforated toe, eyelets, collar, and heel. Jordan Brand adds contrasting black leather panels to the look. A red leather Swoosh appears on both sides and a black “Wings” logo can be found on the collar. The black nylon tongue tag displays a red Jumpman logo. The look is finished off with a white rubber midsole and contrasting red outsole.
