The Air Jordan 1 High TD “Court Purple” is the toddler sizing of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe in a colorway that references one of the model’s original designs. The “Court Purple” edition of the popular high-top retro basketball shoe is a salute to the original “Metallic Purple” look from 1985. Interestingly, the “Metallic Purple” has never been retroed since its original release. This Summer 2021 version of the look is very similar to the aforementioned colorway, but there are a few differences. The upper features a white tumbled leather construction with Court Purple leather Swoosh branding on both sides. A purple “Wings” logo appears on the white leather overlay beneath the glossy Court Purple leather collar. The key difference between the “Court Purple” and “Metallic Purple” is in the material used on the inner lining and tongue. Here, a satin material is used for the lining in lieu of the standard cloth found on most Jordan 1s, and the tongue is constructed in leather, not nylon like the original version of the shoe. Finally, the purple accents on the “Court Purple” do not emit the sparkle finish seen on the “Metallic Purple.” Release date: June 3, 2021.
