The Air Jordan 4 TD “University Blue” is the toddler sizing of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature shoe in a colorway dedicated to his alma mater, the UNC Tar Heels. Surprisingly, prior to the release of the “University Blue,” never before had an Air Jordan 4 displayed the popular “UNC” theme. The collegiate inspired look came to light on the Jordan 1 in 1985, and then reappeared on the Jordan 9 in 1994, and more recently on the Women’s Jordan 1 Mid and Jordan 3. Here, several athletic inspired designs appear on the shoe, including a “removable” name tag on the nylon Jumpman branding on the suede tongue. The design references the product tag found on the bottom of basketball jerseys. A University Blue suede material appears on the upper and tonal mesh detailing can be found on the tongue and mid-panel. Black plastic lace holders are located on the throat and collar and the plastic “Wings” tabs display a “Cement” finish. Further, the “Cement” detailing also appears on the back of the shoe with black Jumpman branding and on the mudguard. An Air unit appears in the heel of the white midsole to complete the look. Release date: April 28, 2021.
