The Air Jordan 9 GS “Gym Red” is the youth sizing of the fresh colorway of Michael Jordan’s ninth signature basketball shoe with Nike. Released during Jordan's first retirement when he was off playing minor league baseball, the Air Jordan 9 is one of the more overlooked silhouettes of the ‘90s. Jordan never wore the shoe while with the Chicago Bulls, though he did wear the “Cool Grey” colorway as a member of the Washington Wizards, effectively boosting the shoe’s status among the sneaker community. Here, a white leather base and contrasting Gym Red patent leather mudguard gives off a premium aesthetic. The vibrant red patent leather extends to the heel with white embroidered “23” branding contrasting the look. A red shiny midsole with a white rubber outsole and black Jumpman branding finishes off the design. The Air Jordan 9 GS “Gym Red” for kids was released on October 5th, 2019.
