The Nike Air Ship Pro “Banned” is a limited edition colorway of the first shoe Michael Jordan wore in the NBA that was released exclusively at an Italian sneaker boutique in August 2020. Limited to 960 pairs, the modern Air Ship Pro “Banned” was raffled off and part of a scavenger hunt organized by Back-Door Bottega in Italy. The release was never publicly acknowledged by Nike or Jordan Brand, which only adds to the allure of the shoe that was previously barred from the NBA. True to the original design, the upper features a black leather base, including on the perforated toe, mid-panel, and heel. A red leather Swoosh appears on either side. Additional red leather detailing covers the collar and eyelets. Classic “Air Ship” branding can be found on the back of the collar. The look is finished off with a set of red and black laces on the black nylon tongue. Release date: August 7, 2020.
